Dalia and foxtail millets pulao

Its an ideal breakfast with goodness of millets and vegetables! 

 

Ingredients:

 

Dalia 1/2cup

Foxtail millets 1/2 cup

Mixed vegetables like carrot,green peas,cauliflower, beans etc 3/4 cup

Finely chopped green green chillies, ginger,curry leaves

Oil 4 to 5tsp

Cinnamon 2 sticks

Cloves 3

Bay leaves 2

Cardamom 1

Mustard 1/2 tsp

Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp

Hing1/4 tsp

Chilli powder 1/2 tsp

Dhania powder 1/2

Haldi powder1/4tsp

Salt to taste

Coriander leaves 2tbsp

 

Method–

 

Wipe the dalia and millets properly with a cloth.

Take 2 cups of water in a pan and heat.

Heat oil in a pressure cooker.

Add the bay leaves, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, mustard, cumin and hing.

When it splutters add green chillies, ginger, curry leaves.

Add haldi,chilly powder, Dhania powder.

Add the dalia and millets fry on slow flame.

Add the veggies and saute for 3 minutes.

Add salt and pour the boiling water.

Cover the lid.

Place the whistle .

Presuuer cook on slow flame for 8 minutes .

Let the pressure release.

Open the cooker.

Take the pulao into serving bowl.

Garnish with coriander leaves.

You can place tomato slices also to garnish.

Serve hot with raita!
