Tapioca is the starch extracted from the storage of roots of the CASSAVA plant.It looks somewhat like sweet potato but hard in texture.
In india you find it more in kerala!They make chips and subji etc.
It is called Kappa in Malayalam
Maravalli kazhangu in Tamil
Margenusu in Kannaada
Karra pendalam in telugu
Simla alu in hindi


This is used in manufacturing of sago I.e sabudana and arrow root
This can be eaten on fasting days also!
Though it is full of carbohydrates it contains some useful minerals like Iron, calcium etc.
Now let us see the recipe
Wash the tapioca very well.
Cook in a pressure cooker. Peel off the skin. cut into fingers. Deep fry in oil.sprinkle salt and chilli powder or pepper powder.
Serve with ketchup.
