Rawa pongal


Rawa 1 cup
Moong dal 1/3 cup
Ghee 3tbsp
Pepper 1tsp
Cumin seeds 1tsp
Hing 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves 8
Ginger 2″ piece
Cashew nuts5
Salt to taste
Wash the dal.

 

Method–


Add1/4 cup water and cook in a cooker.
Crush the pepper and cumin seeds coarsely.
Boil 2 1/2 cups water.
Heat the ghee in a pan.
Fry the cashew nuts and take into a bowl.
Roast the crushed pepper,cumin seeds and hing in the same ghee.
Then add chopped ginger and curry leaves.
Add the rawa and roast for a well.
Now add the cooked dal and salt.
Mix well.
Add boiling water and cook on medium flame till done.
Add the cashewnuts and serve hot with coconut chutney.
