This is a very famous chaat of Moradabad which is made from moong dal. Being a rich source of protein, this dal chaat is also nutritious. It is completely different from other chaats. This chaat is full of taste and is also very easy to make.

 

Ingredients: ✍️👇
For Moradabadi Dal 👇
▪️1 cup yellow moong dal
▪️1 tablespoon ghee
▪️1/2 tsp turmeric powder
▪️Pinch of asafoetida
▪️Salt as per taste

Ingredients for topping ✍️👇
▪️1 inch ginger cut lengthwise
▪️Green Chutney
▪️A little papdi

▪️A few pomegranate seeds
▪️Coriander leaves chopped
▪️1 onion finely chopped
▪️1 tomato finely chopped
▪️2 tbsp lemon juice
▪️4 tbsp butter
▪️1 tbsp chaat masala
▪️2 tbsp Moradabadi Dal Chaat Masala

▪️Green Chutney 👇
Take 1/4 cup coriander and mint, 1 teaspoon cumin, 5-6 cloves of garlic, salt as per taste, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, 2 green chillies, small piece of ginger, grind all these in a grinder and make green chutney.


▪️👉To make Moradabadi Dal Chaat Masala✍️👇
5-6 cloves, a pinch of asafoetida, 1 tablespoon whole coriander, 1 tablespoon black pepper powder, 4- 5
dried red chilli
Lightly fry all the ingredients and grind them coarsely using a grinder or mortar.

 

❤️ Method ✍️👇
🔸 Before preparing the dal, soak it for about 1 hour. Now separate it from water and put the dal in the cooker along with salt, turmeric, ghee, asafoetida and double the amount of dal i.e. 2 cups of water. Take a whistle on high flame and reduce the flame.
slow down and take 1 whistle
🔸Now when the cooker cools down, smooth it with a mesher or mortar.

Heat the dal, add papdi or crackers in the plate, now add hot dal, add all the ingredients like onion, tomato, green chutney, Moradabadi dal chaat masala, lemon juice etc., garnish well and add butter and serve.
