Mawa gujiya by pramila goswami

This Holi tried this easier version of the traditional Mawa gujiya which is quite elaborate and time consuming!
Ingredients–


For the dough
Maida 1cup
Ghee 4 tsp
For the filling
Milk powder 2tbsp
Condensed milk 1 tbsp
Mixed Nuts (kaju, badaam,pista etc)3 tbsp coarsely ground
Ghee 1tsp
Saffron a few strands
Cardamom powder 1/4 tsp
Sugar 1cup
Ghee for deep frying
Rose petals for garnishing
Cardamom powder for sprinkling

 

Method–


Take maida and ghee in a bowl.
Mix well.
Add water and make dough.
Keep it covered.
Take a pan heat 1tsp ghee fry ground nuts on low flame for 2 minutes.
Remove from fire.
Add the milk powder, cardamom powder, saffron and mix well.
Add the condensed milk and mix well.
Meanwhile make the sugar syrup ( one string)for coating
Now make small puris with the dough.
Apply water at the edges.
Stuff nuts mixture and fold into half i.e. semicircle shape.seal the edges property.
Deep fry in ghee on medium flame.
Coat with sugar syrup.
Sprinkle some cardamom powder.
Garnish with rose petals.
