Today’s special makhane ki barfi
Ingredients–


Makhana 2 cups
Cashew nuts 1/2 cup
Coconut grated 1/4cup preferably fresh if not dedicated
Milk 2 cups
Sugar 1/3 cup
Cardamom powder 1/2 tsp
Rose water 1tsp optional
Almond pista sliced
Rose petals

 

Method–


Dry roast the makhana.
Dry roast cashew nuts
Grind the makhana in to fine powder.
Grind the cashew nuts coarsely.
Now take the powdered makhana, cashew nuts,sugar, coconut, cardamom powder in a heavy bottomed pan
Mix well.
Add the milk and mix well.
Cook on slow flame.
Keep stirring.
When it thickens add the ghee.
Add the rose water.
Keep cooking till it leaves the sides of the pan.
It will take 15 to 20 minutes approx
Remove from fire.
Add some sliced nuts keeping some for garnish.
Mix well and pour in to a greased tray.
Sprinkle the remaining nuts and rose petals.
Allow it to set.
Cut in to pieces and serve!
