Dhokla Recipe-- By Pramila Goswami

Ingredients-

 

Rice 1cup
Urad dal 1/4 cup
Chana dal 2tsp
Methi seeds 1tsp
Wash them well and dry well or wipe with a cloth
Dry grind in a mixie coarsely like rawa.
Sour curd 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Sugar 2tsp
Cooking soda 1/2 tsp
Hing 1/4 tsp
Oil 2tsp
Green chillies, ginger,curry leaves finely chopped1tsp
Chilly powder 1/2 tsp
Dhania jeera powder 1/2 tsp
Haldi powder 1/4 tsp
Tadka-
Oil 2 tsp
Mustard seeds 1tsp
Til 1tsp slit green chillies 1 or 2
Curry leaves 6
Take the ground rawa ina bowl .
Put soda and pour curd over it.
Keep aside for 5 minutes.
Add salt,sugar and oil.
Mix well.
Add water and make thick batter like idly.
Allow to ferment for 6 to 8 hrs.
Add haldi,chopped green chillies,ginger, curry leaves, haldi powder ,chilly powder ,Dhania jeera powder and hing .
Mix well.
Pour into a greased tray.
Steam cook for 15 minutes.
Allow it to cool slightly.
Cut into pieces.
Heat the oil for tadka in a pan.
Add mustard seeds and till.
When it crackles add slit green chillies and curry leaves.
Pour over the dhokla.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve with green chutney.
